WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT

Dorine D’Angelo, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in empowerment therapy and addictive disorders.  She earned her Masters of Social Work (“MSW”) degree from Adelphi University. Throughout the years while employed at an international law firm, Davis Polk & Wardwell, Ms. D’Angelo assisted organizations such as Suffolk County Human Rights and Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights.  She assisted in pro bono work while employed at Gibson Dunn who collaborated with AHRC for legal rights in parental guardianship. At Adelphi she assisted students with various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder with their executive functioning, problem solving, and organizational skills. Her academic record is also supplemented by the extensive education associated with internships at Community Housing Innovations (“CHI”) working with individuals, groups, parents, and children, in temporary housing, and assisted in a national research program of the Bright Horizons Family Solutions.  She also collaborated with the CEO of Community Housing Innovations (“CHI”) on a research project in connection with affordable housing on Long Island to better assist the population experiencing temporary housing challenges.  She also studied in Albany with a New York Legislator to further her education on a macro level.  Ms. D’Angelo’s insatiable curiosity and eagerness to learn new skills is an on-going process that compliments her ability to be of best service to herself and others.

 

Ms. D’Angelo was previous Chairperson of NASW, LISSN(Long Island Suffolk Support Network) and member of NASW, Veterans Committee.  Her years of experience provide unique knowledge and insight into families and the intricacies of some of their situations and requirements. Her unwavering level of integrity and high standard in character assures both the client and the community the utmost of quality service.
